Congratulations to Bradley Chen on Winning the Zone One New York Oratorical Contest
The American Legion Kimlau Post 1291 proudly congratulates Bradley Chen, a member of Squadron 1291, on his outstanding achievement as the winner of the Zone One New York Oratorical Contest. Bradley’s dedication and hard work have earned him this prestigious recognition, and we celebrate his success.
Bradley is the son of Bo Chen and Debbie Chen, both members of Kimlau Post 1291 and Unit 1291. Bradley is a student at Midwood High School, where he continues to demonstrate his exceptional oratorical abilities. His participation in the New York County Oratorical Contest was a valuable experience that allowed him to refine his skills, ultimately leading to his remarkable performance at the zone-level competition.
The Oratorical Contest is a significant youth program of the American Legion, where contestants deliver an 8 to 10 minute speech on the subject of the U.S. Constitution. Bradley secured second place in the New York County Oratorical Contest but showcased his talent and determination by excelling at the Zone One contest, emerging victorious.
As a result of his win, Bradley will now advance to the New York Department Oratorical Contest, which will be held on March 8 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. The winner of this contest will move on to compete in the National Oratorical Contest in May, where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills on a national stage.
The Oratorical Contest provides scholarship awards at every level of competition, with increasing amounts for winners who advance further. Bradley’s success is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and we wish him the best of luck in the upcoming New York Department Contest.
Once again, congratulations to Bradley Chen on his remarkable achievement! We are proud to have him represent Kimlau Post 1291 and look forward to his continued success.
